Louis Perez
Hey now! I’m Louis…otherwise known as “Lou P.” When I was young I got into comics, cartoons/anime, movies, and sports. These elements have shaped my personality and made me the “nerd” that I am today! I speak fluent “movie” so with that being said I have PhDs in the dialogues of “The Godfather,” “Scarface,” “Goodfellas,” “Pulp Fiction,” “Major League,” and most James Bond movies to name a few! I grew up in an era where Saturday mornings were spent watching Looney Tunes, Spider-Man and the X-Men, while during the week I could be watching Robotech, The Transformers, Voltron, and G.I. Joe!
When I was in my 20’s (man that seems a long time ago!!!) somehow I ended up getting into the crazy radio industry! The first stations I was at were playing adult contemporary, then classic rock, and Top 40 (during the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s). In 1998, I was working at KZQZ/Z95.7 FM (which is currently The Game in San Francisco now!) when I met my homie and future Everydaynerdpodcaster DJ Geo C! We immediately bonded because we thought alike, grew up in relatively the same environment (the East Bay) and our love of anime especially Dragon Ball Z!
I also had a decision to make as far as my radio career goes. I could try to stay at Z95.7 and develop my skills as an “on-air personality” doing Top 40 radio or take a full-time position doing sports talk radio! I was also working part-time at The Ticket 1050 AM at the time (which is the sister station for KNBR 680 AM The Sports Leader and would later become KNBR 1050 AM).
The Sports Talk station won out! To me this was a dream come true! There would be days when I would sit in the studio saying, “Am I actually getting paid to do this?!?!” That run lasted for 6 years until what usually happens in the industry…I was let go, not due to performance, but basically due to “financial and budget numbers.” If you have been in the industry, you would totally understand what that means! Having to find a “regular job” I got lucky and was hired at the County of San Mateo. Of course 11 months afterwards, I was brought back to KNBR 1050am to do Stanford Football and ended up being a part-timer. I’ve been at The Sports Leader since then, so now radio has turned into my “hobby.”
As I mentioned I started in the radio industry in the late 90s so I have seen so many changes in the industry. I mean, when you hear people say “Mark the tape!” do they actually understand what that means?!? Besides technology, changes in terrestrial radio too have happened. Radio shows are no longer regulated to what you can pick up on the radio dial. Just got to love the Internet now right?
With that being said, I said to myself, there are so many podcasts out there… why not use those skills you learned years ago in doing a podcast about subjects that are unique and something I felt passionate about. At this time I saw a few of my dear friend Jocelyn’s YouTube videos and said, wouldn’t it be fun if we can expand on her videos by having discussions on not only her videos, but also other topics that I was sure she would be interested in talking about. Of course thought of my “radio brutha” and fellow “nerd” DJ Geo C and well as you can see folks…the rest is history!
Joc, Geo, and myself are “regular nerds” like you out there that love talking about comics, movies, and basically anything that tends to come to mind! I’m so glad you stopped by and hey, enjoy our website!
Jocelyn Pagsolingan
I’m Jocelyn. My nickname is Joc. You can call me Joc. I began my YouTube channel, JocelynRP, on November 2016. When I was a little girl, I used to talk to myself in the mirror all the time. The little girl in the mirror was my friend. Who knew that I was preparing myself for this! LOL! Now I’m spending my time talking to a camera just like I did with that mirror! Hence, vlogging feels natural to me.
I’m a wife, mom, daughter, and friend. I have a personal relationship with Jesus. I’m a comic fan, food-lover, vlogger, podcaster, and reactor. I love to have fun conversations about life and I love my quirky sense of humor. I love to eat at new restaurants and post videos about the experience. In addition, I love to share my recipes! I am very comfortable meeting new people and on the flip-side, I don’t mind the silence.
I believe my YouTube channel will outlast me. When the time comes for me to go to Heaven, my channel will be my legacy gift to my children and their children.
Enjoy the videos on my channel I enjoy creating them and I love engaging with my viewers.
Follow me on Facebook and/or Instagram – “watchjocelynrpchannel”, write a post, and send a message. No need to be shy! Nice to meet you!
Marvin Capistrano

Hey, everyone! This is Marvin, the newest member of the Everydaynerdpodcast family! I am a nerd of massive proportion dedicated to my personal Mount Rushmore: video games, comics, movies, and wrestling.
I consider video games my “other sibling” since their rise in popularity began in my formative years. Since playing Super Mario Brothers on the original Nintendo Entertainment System (a game I’ve never beaten, might I add) I was hooked. What started with Duck Hunt led to Street Fighter at the local arcades, which led to story heavy roleplaying games like Final Fantasy, which progressed to the online community found in games like World of Warcraft, and eventually to immersive open world masterpieces like Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War. I appreciate the escape video games offer me when I need to relieve myself of the real world, if only a limited time.
I didn’t start reading comics in the most traditional way. I didn’t pick up random issues on spinner racks at the local convenience store, nor did I have any older siblings or cousins that I tagged along with. I discovered comic books through the Marvel Impel trading cards in 1990, in which I learned that Spider-Man and Superman were not in the same universe. I dissected every card in the collection and future series as well. Walking into my first comic book store was like walking into heaven. Like most comic fans, I took a break during high school, but eventually rekindled my love of comics when the Ultimate Universe launched in the early 2000s. The rest is history.
I’m also fanatical about movies; it’s part of the reason I used to work for a movie theater chain for over 17 years! While most people memorize sports teams and individual players, I memorize actors and actresses along what movies they’ve been in. I am a walking imdb.com and don’t you dare try to challenge me in Six Degree of Separation!
I am not a sports person. At all. Yet wrestling is something that has resonated with me throughout my life. I still remember the moment I fell in love with it. “Macho Man” Randy Savage was accosted by The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and Andre the Giant during an interview with “Mean” Gene Okerlund. This led to Savage bringing in Hulk Hogan to take on the two villains that had attacked him. Since then, I was hooked on the weekly drama enfolding in the WWF/E Universe.
Before I go want to address 3 things: first, I want to thank Jesse, Lou, and Jocelyn for welcoming me into the Everydaynerdpodcast family. Losing Geo was not an easy thing to deal with. I totally understand if they didn’t want to replace Geo. So for them to extend the invitation to me to be an extra voice means so much to me. My intention is not to replace Geo and the legacy he left behind. But I will do what I can to honor him.
Second, I want to address the word “nerd,” since it is a part of the name of our collective. For years I was always ashamed of the word. Peer pressure and societal isolation always prevented me from accepting that I was, indeed, a nerd. As I grew up, I started to realize that I should not hide who I am. I love what I love. Damn anyone that thinks that a boon. I’ve learned to not only accept what I am, but to be proud of it. So if there’s anything I wish to accomplish, it is to help people accept sides to themselves that they may feel may not be socially accepted.
Finally, and quite possibly most important, do not say the word “blip” around me.
Editor’s note: In January 2021, we lost Geovanny Claros to the Covid-19 pandemic. We at the Everydaynerdpodcast share our condolences to Geo and his family. He will always be loved and remembered for his sharp wit, sense of humor, and jokingly – his distaste for Captain Marvel. As a founding member of the Everydaynerdpodcast crew and as a friend, we honor you. Enjoy this bio and learn more about our friend here.
Remembering Geovanny Claros
Geovanny here, but feel free to call me Geo for short! Hello my fellow nerds and geeks! So I began my love for all things comics, movies and anime when I was a little kid. When I was 8 years old, my uncle had a collection of Marvel origin stories (Iron Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and of course, SPIDER-MAN).
I WAS HOOKED!!!
I loved the stories and the artwork. I would always get lost in them and be transported to another world (Can you tell I had very few friends?). I remember watching Voltron, Transformers and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… COWABUNGA DUDES!! I was that kid that would race home to watch these shows and I would wake up early on Saturday mornings to get my dosage of awesomeness!
I still remember when the original Sci-Fi channel would have their anime marathons long before it became mainstream in America. My friends and I would take shifts recording the anime movies at home. I loved Dominion: Tank Police, Project A-ko, Guyver, and anything with giant robots lol! I remember watching the Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z episodes from Japan from a buddy whose cousin recorded them and send them to him. I seriously had NO idea what they were saying, but awesome fights and action are a pretty universal language!
I remember going to a local comic book shop almost everyday to nerd out on the latest issues or anything Marvel, Image and alt-comics! It was truly my little slice of heaven!
After high school I got into the radio industry! I started off as a “street teamer” aka I handed out bumper stickers at a station called Z95.7 FM where I met and became very close friends with Lou P!!! I remember spending many Saturday nights watching Dragon Ball Z episodes with him at the radio station. Yes, instead of hitting the clubs, chasing females…I was watching Dragon Ball!!! No regrets!! We would nerd out on the latest comics and story arcs – truly one of the best times in my life.
Fast forwards YEARS (don’t worry about how old lol) I am) and I met Jocelyn – a super awesome mom, blogger and nerd! Together, we came together like Voltron, but waaaaaay cooler) and well… the rest is history! And yes, still nerd out like I was 8 years old again!
