This is exactly what I want from a Silver Surfer comic book! Big! Epic! Far reaching! Space adventure! This is Silver Surfer at its best!
Wow, artist Tradd Moore really lets loose with his art in this book! Assisted with coloring by the legendary Dave Stewart, he totally excels at the epic scale in this story. Donny Cates continues to prove that he really is Marvel’s next big creator. With a character defining run with Venom, he cleverly incorporates that run into this book.
Aside from the pure artistry in this book, one of the main reasons this is this week’s pick is because of Donny Cates’ emotional letter detailing his response on the death of Stan Lee. Cates lives by Stan’s motif to not hold back in stories and wanted to make sure this book lived up to Surfer’s creator’s name.
Not my most wordy review, I know. But not a lot of words can describe how amazing this book is.
